Last minute booking for 7, parked outside the place was dead quiet. Was thinking we made a mistake.
Chef comes out to greet us and tells us about tonight's special. I didn't really pay attention, due to kids stuffing about.
we're the only customer in the restaurant. My foodie friend proceeds to over order as usual.
The food was amazing, the front of house lady made our Thai milk tea which was perfect about of sweetness. Not the overly orange mix you would usually get and then having to water down the condense milk. This was proper Thai milk tea. I am surprised the place was dead quiet on a Saturday night.
Down the street was an ordinary Thai place and it was booming. The chef here has way more skills. I've uploaded pics, this must be the best that food around the 15km radius.
Will take my parents here, they will love it.

Cilantro Thai Kitchen provides authentic fresh food. Every item on the menu is carefully thought out to ensure that the flavour of each ingredient is a highlight. The delicious dessert coconut Panacotta is my absolute favorite.
The service is prompt and also relaxed.
The atmosphere is enhanced by the local artwork on display on the walls.

Cilantro is hands down my go-to Asian restaurant in Melbourne! The service is always top-notch, with the chef taking the time to check on our meals and make sure we are satisfied. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. I have been a loyal customer for years and have never been let down. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and welcoming dinner in a relaxed environment. Additionally, it is lovely to support a local, family-owned business.

We got takeaway, pad see ew my default noodle dish with beef on this occasion and it was rather yummy so I would have definitely ordered from this venue again had the roti not been burnt and unenjoyable.

Undiscovered gem of delicious Thai cuisine in the suburbs
Date nights remain special even after 40+ years of marriage and it was a little worrying when we walked into an empty restaurant despite the good reviews, especially after walking past a packed one a few shops away.
Their good reviews are well deserved. The service was good and the food excellent but be warned, the dishes are large. We skipped entrées and ordered 2 main dishes to leave room for their iconic dessert but alas, it was not to be.
The barramundi was perfectly fried with a light touch of sweetish Thai hot and sour sauce, the Chiang Mai pork was balanced and tasty.
There are no pretensions of a la carte fine dining, just a lovely modern café and, for tonight at least, a quiet dinner for two.
